The Yachtsmen’s Committee has existed for 24 years as a voluntary group of members dedicated to teach and promote nautical skills to include sailing for young people. This is the volunteer organization that promotes the Great Lakes Boating Festival and the Summer Breeze Fundraiser for the Foundation. Money raised by the Yachtsmen’s Committee are directed to support the Junior Sailing programs and provide donations to the GPYNEF from their Boat Show.
During 2010, this Committee provided a donation of $100,000 to provide initial funding for the Foundation. In total since 1988, the Yachtsmen’s Committee has raised over $1,800,000 in gross funds to support the junior programs.
